As a candidate IB PYP school since June 2023, Kamala Niketan International School is committed to providing an education that nurtures international-mindedness. Kamala Niketan International School is an IB PYP Candidate School. The School implements the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), a globally recognized curriculum that nurtures young learners into confident, curious, and responsible individuals. Rooted in inquiry-based learning, the PYP encourages children to ask meaningful questions, explore real-world issues, and develop strong conceptual understanding that extends beyond textbooks. Instead of memorizing facts, our students ask questions, investigate, and make real-world connections. For example, during a unit on How We Organize Ourselves, children set up a mock marketplace in class, learning about money, trade, and decision-making while building confidence in public speaking. In a similar way, in a Unit of Inquiry on Sharing the Planet, students may investigate water conservation by conducting surveys at home, analyzing usage patterns, and proposing solutions for reducing wastage within the school community.

The programme focuses on comprehensive skill development in thinking, communication, research, social, and self-management, preparing students to apply their knowledge effectively. In mathematics, learners might explore patterns by creating real-life models, while in language, they may present persuasive speeches on current issues, building confidence and fluency. Through the IB Learner Profile attributes, students grow into principled, caring, and reflective learners who take responsibility for their own learning. With a strong emphasis on student agency, they are empowered to voice out, share their opinions, make choices— such as selecting the format of their project (poster, digital presentation, or role play), whether through a science experiment, a skit, or an art display. —and take meaningful action inspired by their inquiries. This nurtures creativity, independence, and ownership of learning.

School lays focus on enhancing language and Math capabilities through various modes. The school uses RazPlus A-Z digital portal for language enhancement, and also plans to implement Singapore Math to enhance the mathematical skills.
